The Boothbay Harbor Region is an area rich in attractions and activities. Boothbay Harbor sponsors many exciting events during the season including the Boothbay Lobster Boat Races and Windjammer Days in late June, the 4th of July parade and fireworks, Harbor Fest in early September, and the Fall Foliage Festival in early October.
Attractions: Popular area attractions include the Boothbay Railway Museum and its antique steam train, the Maine State Aquarium with its display of live local fish and sea creatures (a great place for the kids!), the Dolphin Miniature Golf Course, and the Opera House and its top-name performers and concerts.
Shopping: Boothbay Harbor offers art galleries, antique shops, and all sorts of specialty stores offering local crafts, Maine clothing, candles, souvenirs and t-shirts of every type, nautical gifts, jewelry, popcorn, and even whoopee pies!
Outdoor Activities: Those who love the outdoors will enjoy the acclaimed Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the many pristine Boothbay Land Trust properties that feature miles of scenic hiking trails. The region's waterways offer every kind of boating from sailing on a windjammer to whale watching to charter sport fishing and lobstering excursions to renting a kayak for a simple and peaceful exploration trip on the water.
